A shift you log on this site, a 7:45 clock-in, a 30-minute lunch, an hourly rate, never leaves the browser tab it was typed into. This page walks through why that is true, what we collect instead, and how the ad and analytics tools on this site work.
Punch in a clock-in time, a break length or a pay rate on the time card, hours, overtime, decimal-hours, military-time, time-zone or date tools, and JavaScript running in your own browser does the subtraction, the decimal conversion or the overtime split right there. TimeCardTools has no database of shift entries and no account system, so there is nothing on our end for a submitted timesheet to be saved to. Nobody working on this site can pull up an individual visitor's clock times, break minutes, or hourly rate, because that information was never sent past the browser tab that computed it. Close the tab and it is gone for good.
Ordinary web-server and analytics records: which page loaded, a rough location guessed from IP address, the browser and device in use, and whichever site sent you here. None of that touches the clock times or rates from a calculator field, since those never travel past your device to begin with. We look at this traffic data to tell which tools people actually use and to notice a page that has gone slow or broken, not to reconstruct anyone's timesheet.
Google Analytics and Google AdSense are the only two services that drop a cookie here. Analytics folds visits together into a monthly count, "this many people opened the overtime calculator," with no name or account attached to any single visit. AdSense can draw on cookies set while you browsed other sites to pick which ad to show; the banner on this page and your Google account settings both let you turn that targeting off, and your browser can block the cookie outright. Do any of that and every calculator still runs exactly the same, since none of them checks for a cookie before computing a result.
A message sent through this site's contact form passes through Web3Forms, a third-party processor, on its way to us. The name, address and message text you supply exist for one purpose, replying to you, and do not get added to any mailing list or handed to another company.
Google AdSense serves the display ads on this site; its advertising policy covers how Google itself handles data across every property that runs its ads, not just this one. A handful of outbound links, Amazon Associates among them, are affiliate links: buying something after clicking one may earn us a commission at no cost to you, and the destination site's own privacy policy governs whatever cookie it sets after that click, not ours.
TimeCardTools exists for adults checking their own hours, overtime or schedule, and we do not knowingly collect anything from a visitor under 13.
Add a new analytics tool, swap ad partners, or change how the contact form is processed, and this page gets updated along with the date at the top. We keep no mailing list, so there is no separate email announcement when that happens.
